I like the song at the end, what's it called?
Even though...
It's been done many times and some say it's been played out done already etc. I still find them funny. I had a little chuckle going and then the Twhomp came outta nowhere and just OWNED Mario is when I started busting up.
That was the height of the sprite movie.
As some have said thus far, you do possess decent spriting skills, make a movie or something with that skill.
I won't argue that the "use Mario and hurt him" premise isn't an old one. It was part of Holy Sprites 2, but after animating that first scene I decided it should be longer and it's own movie.
Yeah, that Thwomp part was pretty funny. I still think my favorite part is with Wario.
Again, please check "Related Submissions" on user pages and you'll see that I have other movies, especially the Game Ranger series. Game Ranger 4 is in development as is SFvsDBZ.
Well.. it's nothing short of Awesome
Your animation is as always fluid and energetic. And that's what provides the base for all your flash movies. Random drooling and... extreme titty twisting in the beginning was enough to get me to start laughing. And it wouldn't be Gears unless it had some chainsaw action... even as random as it was. (I dunno about the story line of Gears) But the train ride into fantasy candy was crazy as it can get. Great credits btw.
Short, but sweet..
I played this early this morning before it passed judgement, so I wasn't able to comment on it then. Great new graphics and new add-ons like the Pixies and the Ahmnis make it fun to complete the game, completely. XD However, the game is VERY short compared to the first one. Aside from that, the only problem I've had is for two of the badges. I have everything done, but I'm missing two of the badges. This may be because I finished the game before the badges became active for it, so I might just have to play it again, which I wouldn't mind.
Graphics: 10
Mechanics: 10
Storyline: 8 (for length of the game)
Enjoyment: 10
Overall: 38/40 or 19/20
Great game, now I just have to wait for another one to come out XD
Awesomely hard
I'd have to say this is one of the toughest games I've played on NG and I like a good challenge. Hand drawn animations are my favorite type. Only thing that made me gave you a nine is the ending. Even though you lost the first ending you did due to unforeseen complications, I still have to dock ya for it. I recommend that you polish the ending that you have.
To all those that are complaining about the difficulty of the game here's what I say. It's a game that you learn how to play, learn how to fight the boss and then kick his wooden butt into next week. Once you get that.. he is much easier than you think.
Oh and a note about the one achievement with the spam cannon attack. I deflected way over three cannonballs (three entire attacks) and then I got the achievement. So I think the description for that achievement is off. Or it's a glitch in the achievement itself.
if you block the cannons bounce off screen, if you deflect, they hit the boss, the first 3 count for the achievement.
thanks for sticking with it
Perfect except one thing
It's almost perfect but the interludes between the three parts, the first part being at :18-19 and :48-49 being the second, and the last being at 1:19-20. It just doesn't seem to hit the right pitch. I believe that the pitch should have gone down instead of up during these short, but critical moments in the repeat. (Just my opinion)
HOWEVER
This is an amazing rendition of the classical that we know. I'm a huge Super Mario fan and I look out for the little masterpieces like this. I rarely write reviews on pieces because they fail to entertain like the original does. This would surpass the original if it weren't for the mistake.
Initial Score: 10

It's been a long time..
Since I played any of the old classics for the SNES, but I remember some of the factory levels, where the fun and difficulty were at an even pace, that part of the game always marked for me the end of easy fun and hard trials. Almost every game does that.
Anyway, with the new announcement of Retro Studios taking a stab at the DK series, that is going back to its roots, is a great thing to hear. Hopefully they can surpass the old glory and bring gaming back to when it was fun just to play the game and not be an achievement grabber.
As I wrote the majority of this, I didn't hear anything out of place and it left a good sound in the background as I reminisced on all the DKC games. Great job here and keep the good themes a rolling.
You know
To me it sounds like Popeye the Sailor man's theme song.
Course I used to watch the show all the time.
Haha I love this because I actually use the term 'bananas everywhere'.
It's pretty epic.
:steals the knight banana:
